1852 Gold Dollar NGC MS67. Blasty, superb gem. Certified by NGC in a new holder, this premium gem has been certified in the ultra high MS-67 grade, a rare achievement for a coin which was struck more than 150 years ago. While its mintage is high for the type, with 2,045,351 pieces struck for circulation, survival in this high quality is a slim chance. As such, this high grade should not be considered to be found easily, and makes for a premium type coin of the first gold dollar type struck in the United States.
A premium example which is not replaced easily for the discriminating specialist of gold dollars or type collector, the booming luster on both dies is a prominent future of this example. The strike is bold, and as can be expected for the grade there are virtually no blemishes visible, even under magnification. A darker yellow color, which looks pleasing in hand is featured on both sides. In all, this magnificent gold dollar is a great example from the pre-industrial period of the United States. It also is a coin which needs to be view in hand to be truly appreciated
