1908 St. Gaudens $20 Mint Error PCGS MS64 CAC. Here is a really neat "Saint Gaudens Error", accompanied by a CAC approved sticker. PCGS has mounted this coin with the reverse up in the holder, obviously to show the Mint error to best effect. It is a shallow, relatively short lamination at the upper-right border that does not totally efface the lettering in that area. Otherwise boldly defined, with full mint bloom and pretty color in a bend of orange-gold and rose-gold shades.
1908 $20 No Motto Minor Lamination Reverse PCGS MS-64 CAC. All gold coins are rare when exhibiting any kind of error, but minor strike through or lamination errors appear to be the most available. Yet, they are not easily found, and gold coins remain to be among the most difficult slots to fill in a type set of error coinage. Offered here is the second year of issue for the St. Gaudens Double Eagle, and the popular no motto subtype. The reverse shows a shallow lamination through the lettering near the top. To highlight this PCGS has mounted the reverse side up in their holder. Nicely struck and lightly toned as well, this is an appealing piece for the grade as well.
