1921 Saint Gaudens (1921 $20 St. Gaudens) NGC MS61. Only 65 total examples of 1921 Philly’s have been graded by NGC over the past 23 years with just 16 examples graded MS61 & only 19 coins graded higher. The “real” pop’s are probably lower due to re-submittals.
This is an affordability grade for this coin since an MS63 sold for nearly $1.5 Million in 2006. This exact coin sold in auction in Sept 2006 for almost $104k (with BP) and prices of other 1921’s have risen steadily since then.
Coin features frosty surfaces with attractive light-yellow color and a solid strike. Very small copper spot on reverse (see image below), but not an issue with such a rarity.
* Prices subject to change with no advance notice due to market or other reasons.
