1987W $5 Constitution NGC PF69 UCAM. This Constitution Bicentennial proof half eagle commemorative coin shows deep mirror cameo contrast as expected for a UCAM designation. UCAM means the coins were made from specially polished dies on treated planchets to get the ultra cameo deep mirror effect. One or two microscopic ticks keep it from a 70 grade. The strike is full on both sides.
The obverse depicts a stylized eagle in flight holding a feather pen. It flies over rays that radiate out toward the word LIBERTY at the left rim. The date is below. The reverse shows a vertical feather pen under the words WE THE PEOPLE, which are the first words of the Preamble. The date, September 17, 1787, is to the left of the feather. On that date the Constitution was adopted by the Continental Congress. E PLURIBUS UNUM is to the right of the feather.
