1995W $5 Cilvil War (1995W Half Eagle Civil War) PCGS PF69 DCAM. This modern commemorative 1995 Half Eagle has a sharp, full strike on both sides. Cameo contrast and mirrored fields are present, as expected for a coin grading Proof 69 Deep Cameo. The slight haze is seen near the rims on both sides attests to the coin’s untampered originality. The half eagle obverse, designed by Don Troiani, shows a bugler on horseback blowing his bugle to the troops. Above his head in an arc is LIBERTY. On the right in front of the horse is the motto IN GOD WE TRUST written in two lines, and the date is below.
The reverse, designed by Alfred Maletsky, shows a bald eagle, which is symbolic of American strength. Above it is the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Below its nest is the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, with the denomination below. The maximum authorized mintage was 300,000 coins for the five-dollar coin, which was not met. The net distribution was 12,735 mint state coins and 55,246 proof coins.
