Modern US Silver Coins: Modern US silver coins show current Mint artistry at its best. All coins produced for collectors are in the gem or better category. Bullion coins, which are one of the products of the contemporary Mint, come in a few choices. Some modern US silver coins come in regular issue pieces, burnished uncirculated and proof finishes. Modern US Silver coins with proof finishes show high cameo contrast with dark mirrors and white frosted devices. In 2006, the Mint made an innovation with modern US silver coins by striking a reverse proof coin. The devices were mirrored and the fields were frosted.
