1855-C GOLD DOLLAR
1855-C Gold Dollar

1855-C Gold Dollar - The 1855-C gold dollar had a small mintage of 9,803. It is noted for its poor quality. Most pieces of this mintage were poorly struck on flawed planchets from clashed dies. High grade coins are very rare and almost unobtainable in Mint State.

In Klamath County, California there was hostility between local Indians and settlers. The California State Militia and the U.S. Army had to intervene to end the war.

The first bridge was built over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Today it is the Hennepin Avenue Bridge.
