PCGS$6000., the Feuchtwanger cent was a nickel silver private token coin circulated in the U.S. by Lewis Feuchtwanger during the 1830s and 1840s. Lewis Feuchtwanger was born in Bavaria on January 11, 1805. In 1829, he earned a doctorate from the University of Jena in present-day Germany. In 1829, he immigrated to the United States and settled in New York City. Feuchtwanger was a polymath and in New York City, he worked as a chemist, mineralogist, and metallurgist and opened a pharmacy.
