Struck on a silver planchet with a plain edge, William Barbers obverse design features 13 stars around a figure of Liberty seated and facing to the left. The reverse of this pattern utilizes the regular reverse seen on the Seated Liberty Quarter from that year.

Incredibly rare, the total certified population of this pattern is just 10 combined at PCGS/NGC with 3 in grade and 2 higher. These numbers are almost certainly skewed by resubmissions as estimates among experts in the field are only 8 pieces in existence.

Possessing spectacular toning, especially on the obverse, the specimen offered here is simply stunning to behold. Electric blue about the rims gives way to rich golden-rose and lilac hues.
