Various shades of brown, green, and yellow with a touch of mint red are seen on this lustrous proof pattern coin, which is struck in copper with a reeded edge. Two or three trivial marks on the obverse probably keep this coin from a gem grade. The coin is well struck except for some central weakness on the reverse. The obverse shows a head of Liberty facing right. Through her very curly hair, she wears a headband with a star on it. Inscribed on the headband is the word LIBERTY.

Below the bust is a ribbon with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surround her head. The reverse shows an open wreath of corn, cotton, and maple leaves tied in a bow at the bottom. Within the wreath are the denomination and the date. A large 25 is in the upper center with CENTS much smaller below it and then the date above the bow. The word STANDARD appears at the top of the coin, indicating that the coin was to be used in the Standard Silver series.

The coins rarity is R-L7, which means that 7 to 12 pieces exist in all grades. The NGC population report shows 3 in PF64BN with 0 better.
