1858-D GOLD DOLLAR - TYPE 3 GOLD DOLLAR

1858-D Gold Dollar - The 1858-D Gold Dollar had an improved strike for a Dahlonega Mint coin; however, many were still weakly struck. This weakness was most prominent on the central portions of the coin, especially the 85 of the date. NGC has certified 9 above MS62 and PCGS has 12 above MS62. Of these 2 are in MS65 and 1 is MS66.

Composition: 90% gold; 10% copper
