I
hope all is well. We are back to the 80's here in SW Florida and
it's starting to heat up, will probably see 90 within days from
now. Seems like yesterday had to turn the heat on! The coin
business is also heating up despite the gyrations in the precious
metals markets. If you were ever thinking of using some of the
more common gold coins or bullion as a way to obtain a rarity or
special addition to your estate, now would be a good time to do
so. At the time of this writing gold spot was $4,399 or down 14%
since the top.
This
weeks hand picked offerings begin with an incredibly priced type 1
double eagle 1851-O in choice about uncirculated condition that is
less than 2k over spot gold! Follow that with a run of scarce
double eagles, all in choice about uncirculated condition
including an 1854 Small Date $20 from the SS Central America
Shipwreck, followed by 1858, 1859,1871 double eagles all in choice
about uncirculated condition at very small premiums over spot
gold, to a gem MS-65 1897-S $20 that has incredible eye appeal as
it should in such high grade. Next up is a very rare pattern half
dollar Judd 1105 that comes with very important pedigree and
lastly one of the the Twelve Ceasars in Gold, this one is Galba,
very rare and desirable as such
