I hope all is well. Well the summer is.... over but the temps here less than a mile or so from the Gulf of America are still in the low-mid 90's so we can't wait till summer is REALLY over. In the meantime, the coin show was incredibly active with buyers outnumbering sellers by multiples. We have noticed smart buying, meaning collectors are adding to their collections, retiring dealers are buying the rarities and investors are zeroing in on specific rarities in all grades to add to their portfolios. Best "summer" market I've seen in a long time.
This weeks hand picked offerings begins with a scarce and desirable 1799 Silver Dollar in Choice about uncirculated condition followed by an extremely rare gold dollar of 1851 from the Dahlonega mint among the finest known MS-64, next up another Southern mint rarity, 1843-O Sm Dte quarter eagle in high grade PCGS MS-63 followed by a mind blowing Gem MS-67 1904 Gold quarter eagle with a price that may seem like a misprint ( but it's not ) over to a choice uncirculated MS-63 1893-CC half eagle that appears even nicer, to a short run of choice double eagles beginning with an early and scarce 1877-CC in choice about uncirculated, quite scarce and also quite nice, to a very choice and attractive about uncirculated 1883-CC double eagle followed by a really sharp and rare 1902 double eagle in choice uncirculated MS-63 with beautiful color.
