| 1890 Gold
Eagle PCGS PR50. All proof gold coinage is rare, and those
of the larger denominations are very popular as well.
As a result, prices have been rising during the last decades,
and not many collectors have the possibility of owning
one of these pieces of art.
The present piece is just one of 63 proofs created
for collectors, of which less than 50 survive in all
grades. Although it spent a short time in circulation,
either in commerce or as a pocket piece, it can still
easily be identified as a proof. Sharp rims and considerable
reflectivity makes this piece look great. Wonderful
and orange peel color, appreciated by many collectors,
is seen on both sides.
This proof eagle is certified by PCGS in a older, green
label holder, this piece looks much finer by today’s
grading standards. This is your chance to own a rare,
19th century proof gold coin, of one of the larger denominations
for a very reasonable price.
