1926 Sesquicentennial 50C PCGS MS64 CAC. A coin carrying a CAC sticker means it “meets or exceeds” the grading standards imposed by the Certified Acceptance Corporation. That’s the case for this PCGS certified MS-64 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar, and an important note for the value of the coin.
Mintage/distribution of this commemorative was only 141,120 and, having been produced on the cusp of the Great Depression, many ended up in circulation when tough times set in. As a result, mint state examples are very difficult to locate, and mint states above 63 are even harder. If you collect early commemoratives the 1926 Sesquicentennial is essential, and in a CAC verified grade of MS-64, it is almost required. |
