1928 China $1 Kweichow Auto Dollar (KM Y-428) NGC VF35. A very popular Chinese type coin, struck to commemorate the first paved road in Kweichow, southern China. Pictured is the car of the Governor, and thus these coins were nicknamed “Auto Dollars”.

Seldom found in problem-free grades, and virtually unknown in uncirculated condition, these were struck from silver with a .880 fineness and a weight of 26.5 grams (409 grains). Rare at this grade level and fully original, with nice grey toning highlighted on both sides, along with excellent detail. A great representative of this very popular issue.
