Incredible 1926-S Oregon Trail Half Dollar in Gem MS-67 ! Every once in a while we get a chance to see near perfection in coin form and this Oregon sure looks near that level of perfection. The Oregon Trail has been considered the most beautiful coinage designs by many collectors, certainly has captured the number one position in classic commemorative half dollar designs and this one is not only MS-67, but judging by the boldness of strike, underlying luster, absence of imperfections one might consider this specimen even finer than what the holder claims. Now take a closer look, enlarge the image and take a gander at that color! This Oregon, with gentle and even not so gentle strokes of lavender, violets and other pastel shades which cascade into a center of golden hues, one has to wonder how many specimens could actually compare with this one and we think we could find it difficult to count on one hand how many we’ve seen over the decades of this date that compare. Truly a work of art in silver coin form.
