1993 China 25 Yuan (Fu, Lou & Shu, KM Y-404)
NGC MS-67 – At first glance struck in Proof
format, but in fact uncirculated with prooflike surfaces,
hence the Mint State grade from NGC. Very nice China
gold coin, containing ¼ ounce of pure gold
and a mintage of just 20,000 pieces. Struck at the
Shenyang Mint and part of a large set of commemorative
gold coins made in China during the later 20th century.
This particular piece features Fu, Lou & Shu,
gods attributed in China to blessings (Fu), prosperity
(Lou) and longevity (Shu). They are presented on the
obverse, with the reverse having a great image of
China’s great wall. An issue which is becoming
pretty scarce in this condition and a perfect gift
for that special person.
